Its location in Centro Histórico makes this a great base for exploring on foot. Directly across the street are two of the city's main squares: Plaza Zaragoza, home to the wonderful Catedral de la Asunción, and Plaza Bicentenario. You can while away hours strolling these plazas, fountains are worth your time, and people-watching is interesting in itself. Also on the plaza is the very grand building that houses the Palacio de Gobierno, where state government business is transacted. There are some massive murals that adorn this building and tell the entire history of Sonora, which are open to the public for viewing.

It is the commercial core of the city, hosting all kinds of stores, from departments to small locals. These streets are busy during the day and one can really get a feel of the city. One can walk to Museo de Culturas Populares e Indígenas de Sonora in just 10 minutes and can have great local cultural taste with excellent exhibits on the indigenous heritage of the region.

Restaurants are abundant and just a few steps out the hotel door. There are many eateries in the area serving Sonoran staples, known for the finest beef around (‘carne asada’). There are numerous street food vendors, mainly at night, selling regional favorites like ‘dogos sonorenses’ (Sonoran hot dogs). All amenities required such as banks, pharmacies, and convenience stores are also available at a very short walk from the hotel which makes your stay highly comfortable.
